WHO WE ARE
Dedicated To Precision From Day 1
In 1998, the owner, Jon Russell, began his career in the roofing and construction industry as the PM on the UPS® Air Hub 2000 at the Louisville International Airport. After the project was complete, he left the commercial roofing industry to move back to his home in Atlanta, GA to become an estimator for a structural concrete company where he was responsible for bidding on light commercial applications.
Fast forward to 2005 where Jon moved to the insurance industry as an outside property representative for a large national carrier. Quickly coming to the realization that a large portion of claims were roof related, he saw a need for honest roof evaluations. Due to the customer’s inability to see the condition of their roof due to the difficult and dangerous nature of access, assistance from a contractor or other able-bodied professional was necessary.
On March 15, 2008, Atlanta was heavily impacted by a tornado outbreak that left much of the city in ruins and caused widespread damage in the surrounding communities with wind and hail damage. Shortly after, metro Atlanta was flooded with roofing contractors from all over the country. There were many news reports of predatory contractors taking advantage of residents and business owners during this time of need. The problem was so bad, that in 2011, the Georgia General Assembly amended The Georgia Fair Business Practices Act to disallow contractors from representing homeowners during the process of an insurance claim, by forcing language, consumer rights, and even the font size of their contracts had to be in compliance with the updated GFBPA.
Shortly after the 2008 storm, Jon found an opportunity to help people by identifying damage to their roof systems without them being forced into a contract by a salesperson. In 2009, the idea True-Line Assessments was born. He adopted the plumb bob as a symbol of precision to represent what he stood for in a world of consumer uncertainty and has not wavered from that stance since. Our goal is to help educate and inform property owners of the true condition of their roofs and allow them to make their own decisions about making investments in their current homes or places of business or future ones. We genuinely appreciate you visiting us, and we are eager to help you with any questions or problems that you may have.
